Tiered Membership Fee System

GCTYO has established a tiered membership fee system. Families have the opportunity to choose the ensemble fee that they are most comfortable with from the chart below. You will choose from one of the three options for your ensemble when you pay your membership fees. Your choice will in no way influence your musician’s GCTYO experience or placement. In fact, none of the conductors, coaches, or artistic staff will know what fee selection you made, including the Music Director.
For the 2025-26 season, Tier Purple will cover approximately 65% of the true, full cost of educating a GCTYO musician. Tier Blue will cover a little more than half (55%), and Tier Pink will cover less than half (48%) of GCTYO’s per student expenses.
We encourage families that can, to choose Tier Purple or Tier Blue. The extra revenue will make a positive difference in the future of GCTYO. Remember that your choice will in no way influence the experience your child receives at GCTYO.

Afternoon Programs
GCTYO offers Jazz & Steel Pan programs to supplement the main morning orchestra programs. Musicians must be enrolled in a morning orchestra to participate in an afternoon ensemble. GCTYO’s financial assistance program extends to afternoon programs as well.
Payment Information
Financial assistance is available to families that qualify. Click to read more about financial assistance. First child pays full membership fee. Sibling fees are reduced by $100 each for each sibling after the first. A deposit of one-third of total fees or payment in full will be due upon placement acceptance, unless a family is applying for financial assistance. Fees may be paid in full or divided into three payments due in September, October, and November.
Registration Fee
There is a $30 non-refundable registration fee per application.
Retreat/Activity Fees
Retreat fees vary by ensemble. A separate snack fee of $30 per student will also be assessed.
Refunds
Students who withdraw from GCTYO at least 7 days prior to the retreat may receive a full refund of retreat fees upon request. Members may receive, upon request, a refund of retreat fees for medical and/or family emergencies.
Students who withdraw from GCTYO by October 1 may receive a full refund of membership fees upon request, less a $25 processing fee. Notification of withdrawal must be provided in writing to the Executive Director by Oct. 1. No refunds will be given after Oct. 1.
